Sunset Hill House Recreation
The Sunset Hill golf course’s first tee is 50 feet from the front door. Guests of the Inn enjoy discounted greens fees. The course is open daily from dawn to dusk from late April through the end of October, weather permitting.
The Sunset Hill Nordic Ski Center is a state-recognized cross country skiing and snowshoeing center with 30 km of groomed (track and skate) trails. Rentals of snowshoes and cross country skis are available at the front desk. Inn guests always enjoy free trail passes and discounted rentals. There are also great Nordic ski and stay packages. The Nordic ski and snowshoe center is open when it snows – usually from late November through the end of March.
The heated swimming pool has White Mountain views, and is open dawn to dusk, from Memorial Day through Columbus Day.
There is a regulation horseshoe pitch, and lawn games are also available.
Sledding is fabulous on the golf course which is open to the public for non-motorized recreation. Be sure to bring your own sled.
Astronomers and stargazers alike can book a private guided tour of the dark night skies and milky way, using one of the east coast’s largest privately owned telescope: A 20” Obsession Dobsonian. Or just walk outside, lie on the lawns and watch the shooting stars, aurora borealis and constellations float by.
Sunset Hill House Inn has partnered with the Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country to provide adaptive cross country skiing, golf and gardening at no charge to those with a variety of challenges. For further information on this exciting program, please contact ASPNC.
